Description:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established IT Project Manager professional to join the English Heritage Technology Services (IT) team. Our vision and aim is to ensure our organisation is able to drive forward its corporate strategy by becoming a trusted partner for all technology needs, delivering end to end solutions that add tangible value and benefit to our internal customers and ultimately improve engagement with our visitors and members to enhance their overall experience of English Heritage.
The role of the IT Project Manager will contribute to the delivery of our vision by managing the delivery of IT projects and work packages across English Heritage as assigned by the Head of IT Project Delivery, acting on behalf of the Technology Programme Board. Working closely with Senior Responsible Officers, stakeholders and business analysts, you will ensure that project scopes are well defined with business benefits clearly articulated, achievable and ultimately realised. Throughout the duration of each project you will proactively manage stakeholders at all levels across the organisation undertaking relevant, timely and appropriate communication, ensuring engagement from the business is sustained.
You will be based at our Swindon office, with hybrid working options enabling you to work from home, with two days per week in the office. This allows teamwork and collaboration, as well as the development of a sense of community and belonging. More time in the office may be required on occasions depending on the needs of the projects assigned. Working from the office full-time is also an option.
We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record in delivering successful IT software projects and work packages against time, cost and quality objectives, with experience of the typical challenges faced by an organisation that predominantly outsources its IT provision either from a shared service or commercial supplier. On a day to day basis you will ensure that your projects are effectively resourced and appropriately funded, taking responsibility for the day to day management of your project teams and finances. You will monitor progress and flag up risks and issues, at all times utilising the agreed project governance and standards to support successful delivery.
