Our client is one of the world’s leading Life Sciences, with offices around the globe. Working as Infrastructure Operations Analyst for the Client Technologies division, you will be responsible for providing support for Global IT Operations including service desk, system administration, development, security and support of all relevant IT infrastructure, systems and applications.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES-
Providing user and administrative support for IT systems, applications and Infrastructure
- Providing technical guidance to users and management for IT related issues and queries
- Performing maintenance and troubleshooting of all relevant hardware, software and systems
- Assist Manager/Supervisor in development of desktop support and local server systems strategy
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of all relevant hardware and software.
- Implementation and support of network operating systems and services.
- Configuration, installation & deployment of all PC’s and PC related peripherals.
- Configuration, installation, deployment & support of desktop management suite.
- Supporting local manufacturing systems.
- Developing and maintain appropriate desktop and server related procedures and ensure these procedures are enforced.
- Developing & maintaining appropriate disaster recovery procedures.
- Developing a working knowledge of department specific applications.
- Keeping abreast of technical aspects of PC-LAN computing environment.
- Providing project management for implementations and roll-outs.
- Providing Manager/Supervisor with equipment projections and assist with purchasing.
- Performing daily backup procedures as defined by technical leads.
- Identifying opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Performing system analysis and utilisation reports as required.
- Logging into and using telephone and computer based Service Desk system to record all support activities.
ABOUT THE QUALIFICATIONS-
Associate’s Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent)
- Up-to-date professional IT certification
- 6+ year experience of providing second line end user desktop support
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware and associated peripherals
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft operating system and Office applications
- Ability to use technical documentation and diagnostic tools to solve hardware and software problems
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent judgment and strong analytical skills as well as follow-up and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform risk assessments
- Willing to provide out of hours support and coverage for National holidays
