As the tech wizard who organises our computer networks, you’ll make sure everything runs smoothly and boost business operations to new heights. You’ll team up with leaders and colleagues, fine-tuning specific needs and diagnosing issues like a tech detective. You’ll be the go-to person for support sharing your passion for IT and using your social skills to explain complex setups in simple terms. Constantly on the lookout for the latest tech and learning opportunities, you'll always stay ahead of the IT curve. And, of course, you’ll handle essential IT tasks like operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, and hardware with ease turning problems into improvements. By championing windows networks and harnessing the power of cloud solutions, you’ll help the business move faster, work smarter, and make sure colleagues are always at their most productive.
What you’ll be doing
Be the Backbone of Our Network: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of network solutions that provide core infrastructure
Own Your Projects: Provide basic project management for various network activities, including upgrades, implementations, and migrations, offering technical direction and user support as needed
Keep Things Organised: Document everything environment setups, operational procedures, and any solutions you come up with—so your team stays in the loop.
Install & Configure Like a Boss: Set up workstations, printers, phones and anything else the team needs to stay productive.
Your Support is Key: Be the go-to for technical help whether it's via phone, email, ticketing system, or in-person heroics. Be approachable, kind and take the stress out of IT issues (all with a smile).
Teach & Empower: Share your knowledge with colleagues, providing training on software and systems so everyone stays on top of their game.
Guard the Fort: Ensure the security and privacy of our network and systems, keeping GDPR and data protection top of mind.
Fix It All: Whether it is IP/DNS/DHCP/VPN or just Microsoft 365 having a bad day.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
Helpdesk Hero: You've got at least 3 years of experience as a helpdesk technician or in a support role (bonus points if you’re familiar with ITIL!).
Networking Whiz: You know your TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN inside out—networking concepts are second nature to you.
Microsoft Master: You've worked with office 365 and its related Microsoft services, making sure everything runs smoothly.
Device Management Guru: You understand Intune or similar Device management systems, keeping everything organised and secure.
Hands-On Techie: You’re ready to jump in and physically install networking equipment when needed—patch panels, network wall plates, pulling cables—you name it (we’ll provide training if needed!).
Hardware Expert: Routers, switches, and firewalls are your playground. You’re experienced with network hardware and keeping everything running.
Problem-Solving Pro: Whether it’s troubleshooting an issue or explaining something complex to a colleague, your communication skills are top-notch.
Juggling Genius: You’re a master at prioritising and managing situations, keeping your cool even when things get hectic.
Team Player with Independence: You can work just as well on your own as you do in a team.
Organized & Efficient: Strong time-management and organisational skills are in your toolkit, making sure no task is left behind.
Education Essentials: You’ve got GCSEs in Maths and English with grades C or above. Preferred degree in a similar or related course with skills adaptable to IT.
