This newly created Investment Lawyer role will support the Group Invest Office (GIO) through the provision of in-house legal advice and will support the increased legal requirements such as due diligence of new investments, fund documentation and investment contracts that are associated with investments.

Scope of the role:

• Support the Group Investment office with reviewing all investment management agreements, including review of the ISGI agreements
• Review, negotiate and deliver the investment documentation including ISDAs, CMAs, POAs and executory agreements.
• Support in reviewing the investment compliance documentation across Athora
• Provide legal support to implement and review investment structures and M&A planning.
• Support Group legal and Group structuring with any legal due diligence around new investments as well as regulatory support.
• Provide any ad hoc support around executive compensation and investor relations.

Capabilities and experience required:

• Minimum of 7 years PQE within the Legal space.
• Excellent knowledge of UK legislation and governing law and jurisdictions.
• Experienced dealing with all types of investments, processes and requisite governance within PE space
• Ideal prior in-house experience working within an Investment Function from Insurance, Private Equity, Investment Banking of Funds.
• Proven track record working on investment and fund documents such as ISDA, CMAs, IMAs, LPAs, credit facility agreements, inter-creditor agreements and similar documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management dealing with investment professionals, senior leadership and ability to win commitment.
• Ability to work with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment, while maintaining a strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to express complex cases accurately and confidently to internal stakeholders.
