Works in collaboration with the clients, subject matter experts, leadership team, internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies to assess training needs and accomplish design, development and delivery of effective job-specific, technical and individual professional development training programs, tools and materials. Employs recognized adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g. ADDIE) to design and develop training material and programs to accomplish established learning objectives. Reviews, evaluates and maintains the effectiveness of existing online, instructor-led and blended learning programs to ensure accuracy of content and appropriateness of delivery method(s). Works with the Learning Management System (LMS) for purposes including course registration management, reports creation and generation, identifying learning patterns and learning gaps and recommending corrective actions for implementation. Uses a needs analysis process, determine learning objectives to achieve desired performance objectives, business outcomes and/or workforce behaviors -- recommending appropriate learning interventions/delivery methods. Generates and maintains documented and online course catalogue(s), communicating revisions to applicable stakeholders. Coaches instructors on instructional design principles and the use of developed training materials and provides feedback on instructional delivery. Provides general and non-technical training as and when required.

Duties And Responsibilities

Works in collaboration with the clients, subject matter experts, leadership team, internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies to assess training needs and accomplish design, development and delivery of effective job-specific, technical and individual professional development training programs, tools and materials.

Employs recognized adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g. ADDIE) to design and develop training material and programs to accomplish established learning objectives. This includes departmental intranet website(s), course outlines, instructor guides, presentation, storyboards, brochures, video, help files, job aids, social learning platforms and learning guides using various authoring tools.

Reviews, evaluates and maintains the effectiveness of existing online, instructor-led and blended learning programs to ensure accuracy of content and appropriateness of delivery method(s) – initiating revisions as needed to ensure all such programs remain in alignment with learning objectives and expectations which includes but not limited to development, maintenance and monitoring of applicable assessment tools, including LMS evaluations, quizzes and exams, feedback forms and surveys (e.g. Kirkpatrick Model). Ensures the course evaluation at the completion of the course and forwards the outcomes to the Manager for review and analysis. Adapts instructional materials originally designed for instructor-led training to e-learning; including preparing e-learning material for stand-alone refresher training.

Works with the Learning Management System (LMS) for purposes including course registration management, reports creation and generation, identifying learning patterns and learning gaps and recommending corrective actions for implementation. Troubleshoots issues when needed by obtaining assistance from designated stakeholders which includes but not limited to service desk, LMS vendor etc., where required.

Uses a needs analysis process, determine learning objectives to achieve desired performance objectives, business outcomes and/or workforce behaviors -- recommending appropriate learning interventions/delivery methods (e.g. instructor-led training, e-learning, performance support tools, etc.).

Generates and maintains documented and online course catalogue(s), communicating revisions to applicable stakeholders as needed.

Coaches instructors on instructional design principles and the use of developed training materials and provides feedback on instructional delivery. Provides general and non-technical training as and when required.

Performs related duties as assigned, such being items of a minor nature that do not affect the value of the job.

Education

 Qualifications 

Completion of an undergraduate degree in Instructional Design or Adult Education focusing on learning.

Experience

Minimum 5 (five) years of experience performing instructional design activities, including developing curriculum and training materials for classroom, blended, and online delivery in adult education or technical training/development in a corporate environment. Designing and developing e-learning training content using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, and media converters, audio editors and converters, video editing software. Designing and developing print-based training materials, such as instruction manuals, guidebooks, job aids, brochures, posters, and infographics. Administering the Learning Management System (LMS), including providing user support and troubleshooting. A further period of up to 6 (six) months on-the-job to gain in-depth knowledge of existing training programs and procedures.
