Description:
As a leading force in the Divisional Senior Leadership Team (SLT) you will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of the Forecourt business unit. This role involves driving growth, ensuring profitability, and aligning the business unit’s objectives with the company's overall strategic goals. The Director will lead a team of senior managers and a broader team of 140 colleagues and work closely with the group central functions and other divisions to ensure efficient & consistent ways of working.
Success will be assessed and measured on group, business unit & divisional financial performance (revenue & EBITDA), customer & stakeholder feedback, and the successful execution of the division’s targets.
The role:
Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the business unit’s overall objectives
Oversee daily operations and ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all business activities
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staff
Ensure best practices and continuous improvement processes
Develop and manage the business unit’s budget
Ensure financial targets are met and drive initiatives to improve profitability
Monitor financial performance and make data-driven decisions
Foster relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate operational performance
Analyse data and metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders & provide regular updates on business performance
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and problem resolution, this could be by developing a customer experience flow to include a contact centre to manage the job flows.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally

The person:
Degree educated or equivalent
Commercial and operational experience gained within a fast based , facilities management, fuel, energy, forecourts or environmental organisation.
Extensive contract management experience delivering for customers under strict SLA regimes
Extensive commercial experience in a B2B contract driven environment
Proven ability to balance commercial opportunity with operational capability while maximising profitability
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, with a strong understanding of operations management principles and practices
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading, inspiring & motivating teams to achieve goals and objectives
Experience of driving efficiencies and developing the Lean agenda for an organisation, operational excellence, continuous improvement, kaizen etc
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
A high degree of reliability and integrity with an open mindset, to enable management of demands arising through organisational growth and embrace change and challenge
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities with a high degree of reliability and integrity
