Description:
We are recruiting for a Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. Based in our Salford Quays office, the Infrastructure Engineer will play a part in ensuring that our customers are secure from emerging threats. This involves interpreting data from different tools to find and mitigate risks before they are exploited. If an exploit occurs, you will play a key part in the efforts to counter an ongoing attack.
Day to day the Infrastructure Engineer will:
- Facilitate vulnerability scans, remediating vulnerabilities and patching across customers infrastructures
- Installing threat management software
- Providing advice to remove security weaknesses identified
- Quality assuring change requests to ensure they do not introduce security regressions
- Quality assessing new implementations against established security baselines
- Ongoing identification and tracking of patches released by our partners, eg Microsoft, VMware, Cisco
- Assisting service engineers in the investigation of security events and incidents and assisting in the production of security incident reports
- Data cleansing activities ensuring deprecated assets are investigated and removed from reporting where required
Our ideal Infrastructure Engineer will be able to demonstrate:
- Completed vocational training with professional experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience with vulnerability management and patching using methods such as: Group Policy Deployment, Intune, VMware Update Manager
- Awareness of vulnerability scanning tools such as: Qualys, NESUS, Wireshark, Nmap
- Awareness of reporting tools such as Microsoft PowerBI
- An ability to interpret event viewer logs, or similar
- Knowledge of the NIST CVSS scoring system
- Experience or exposure to cloud security automation tools
- Experience implementing OS hardening measures such as SELinux and Windows NCSC guidance
- Awareness of compliance frameworks such as Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO:27001
