Responsibilities:
As an Infrastructure Engineer at Vattenfall, your role will be pivotal in supporting the expansion of our wind business and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing technology requirements, evaluating existing systems, and designing an efficient and scalable IT infrastructure
- Overseeing the implementation of the infrastructure plan, collaborating closely with internal teams and vendors
- Managing and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment
- Configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network devices
- Managing both physical and virtual servers, including setup, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization
- Implementing robust security measures to protect our IT systems from threats
- Monitoring the performance and availability of IT systems, promptly identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Your profile
Skills and Qualifications: To thrive in this role and contribute to Vattenfall's purpose, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- A passion for IT systems, networks, and security, with proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Expert or similar role.
- A knack for designing and implementing complex IT infrastructures, including networks, servers, and storage solutions.
- Deep knowledge of network protocols, security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience working with virtualization technologies, server administration, and cloud platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to quickly identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- The ability to adapt to changing technology environments and manage multiple tasks and projects.
- A UK Driving License is required, and occasional travel within the UK will be involved.
