Information Technology Support Engineer

 

Description:

The IT Support Engineer will join the IT Department. They will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and upgrading the infrastructure of offices and business units, reporting into the Head of IT.

 

The successful candidate will provide on-site and remote IT support. This position offers opportunities to develop IT knowledge/ communication skills.

 

The role responsibilities (but not limited to):

 

  • Providing (on-site and remote) support to company’s systems and employees.
  • Resolving IT related operational issues in a timely manner.
  • IT documentation, ensuring the content is updated.
  • Liaising with vendors, service providers and other IT personnel for problem resolution and projects progression.
  • Installing, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting physical/virtual machines, laptops, printers, mobiles, tablets (hardware and operating systems).
  • Installing, testing, maintaining, and providing support for software applications.
  • Monitoring performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Ensuring IT policies and Cyber Security procedures are applied and maintain them.
  • Escalating higher level IT operational issues / risks.

 

Required Skills

  • IT degree (or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience is desirable.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hardware, software troubleshooting, and diagnostics skills.
  • Knowledge of heavy industries (e.g. shipping/transport is preferred)
