Description:
The position as Information Architect is a new role in the Information Management department, and has the responsibility for steering and governing of information modelling and information architecture across BA Wind.
- On behalf of Information Management, create and own the strategy for Information Modeling across BA Wind and detail the roadmap for relevant information modeling initiatives.
- Create and maintain information models, e.g. business glossary, conceptual and domain models that accurately represent the structure, relationships and semantics of data and information across BA Wind. Do this by collaborating with subject matter experts, architects, analysts and business stakeholders to understand the business requirements.
- Establish and enforce information modelling standards, guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency and adherence. Do this by defining and implementing KPI’s and measurements to drive alignment.
- Define and implement governance processes for information modelling, including data quality assurance, metadata management and change management. Furthermore, mature the governance around our information model landscape by understanding how different model outputs relate across repositories, including different term stores across data catalogue, content management system and master data registry.
- Work closely with Data Engineers and with IT Architects to ensure that information models at the conceptual level works as an anchor point for lower level logical and physical modelling in relation to data ingestion and -integration in data platforms across BA Wind. As part of this ensure that consistency and integrity exists between the different modelling levels and seek measures of validating this through governance processes and/or tooling.
- Effectively communicate and present complex information modelling concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, promoting understanding and buy-in.
- Assess similar modelling initiatives at group level of Vattenfall and within other Business Areas and seek alignment where relevant
- Stay updated with industry trends (emerging practices and technologies) and participate in relevant wind industry fora, to drive knowledge exchange and anchoring of the BA Wind information models with industry-relevant vocabularies (ontologies, taxonomies, glossaries, etc.).
The location of the position is flexible. This can be: Stockholm, London, Kolding or Amsterdam. Regular traveling is required to the main Wind offices. You will be part of a growing organisation and with a lot of opportunities to develop
Your profile
What we are looking for:
Educated to degree level in Data and Information Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or relevant industry experience. Your English is strong, both verbally and written. In addition, the following qualifications are important for this position:
- Proven experience (5-8 years) in the data & information management domain and in an Information Architect role, Information/Data Modeler role or similar
- Strong expertise in Information Modelling at both the conceptual and logical level, including Business Object Modelling (BOM)
- Experience with designing and/or implementing modelling framework(s), including data and information modelling techniques, governance, methodologies and tools
- Experience managing and/or configuring repositories for model outputs, ensuring integrity and usability of model outputs
- Familiarity with relevant wind and/or electric industry standards as well as information modelling best practices is a benefit
- Proficiency in data modelling tools and familiarity with data integration and implementation of physical data models, data warehousing systems, preferably in cloud
- Familiarity with semantics management and sub-disciplines like ontology engineering, terminology management, metadata management, taxonomy management and knowledge graphs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex business requirements
- Proactive attitude towards continuous learning and keeping up-to-date with industry trends
- Experience with training in modelling techniques is a benefit
- Knowledge of the renewable energy sector is a benefit
- Experience with agile ways of working.
- A self-starter who is result-oriented and capable of working both independently and in a team set up.
