The opportunity has opened up within an expanding team and tasked with validating the external supply chain. The primary goal is to guarantee the timely and effective delivery of essential parts necessary to bolster Development programs in readiness for full-scale Production. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Project Management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of suppliers daily and overseeing the project's Industrial Validation Plan. This involves assessing and validating the supply chain and suppliers’ capabilities to ensure they align with the company’s requirements and working on multiple projects.
- Conducting Industrial Validation activities such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), evaluating Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs), and conducting Production Readiness Reviews to prepare for series production.
- Identifying potential risks within manufacturing and the supply chain is key. You'll be tasked with devising and implementing improvement and mitigation plans to address these risks effectively.
- Manage and verify aspects of manufacturing capability transfer from in-house operations to suppliers. Collaboration and support for a multi-functional team are integral to achieving objectives in this role.
What we’re looking for:
- Engineering professional with a strong grasp of manufacturing processes and techniques, coupled with project delivery/project management expertise. Ideally, candidates will have experience in manufacturing or supplier quality within the Aerospace or Defence sectors.
- Providing support to suppliers and customers to ensure the development of robust manufacturing systems and control plans, facilitating on-quality, on-time, and on-cost delivery in series production. Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or manufacturing capability transfer would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Industrial Validation tools, such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Measurement System Analysis, Process Mapping, Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments, and Production Readiness Reviews, is essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills are required to conduct root cause analysis and implement improvement plans for manufacturing system deviations within the supply chain.
- Excellent communication skills are vital for collaborating closely with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organisations to ensure effective coordination and alignment.
