Description:
MSCI Inc., a global leader in investment decision support tools and services, is seeking a Vice President of Index Management Research to join their prestigious team focusing on Climate Indexes. In this dynamic role, you will work as part of the global Index Management Research (IMR) group, which is responsible for maintaining and enhancing MSCI's comprehensive suite of ESG, Climate, Factor, Thematic, and Cap-weighted equity indexes.
You will serve as a key climate index expert, collaborating across various departments, engaging with clients, and helping drive innovation in Climate investment solutions. Your expertise will contribute directly to the enhancement of methodologies, policy research, regulatory compliance, and market engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the full lifecycle of Climate Indexes, including regular rebalancing and error mitigation.
Advise on a wide range of ESG and Climate index methodologies, ensuring they align with market trends and regulatory changes.
Actively participate in client consultations, addressing index methodology topics and promoting best practices.
Engage extensively with clients and internal teams, including ESG Research, Product Management, Coverage, IT, and Data Content Services.
Lead and manage internal project workstreams, significantly contributing to MSCI’s overall research and organizational agenda.
Support index policy research and expert guidance for new product development.
Translate complex ESG and Climate index concepts into practical investment solutions.
Candidate Requirements:
UK-based professional with 8–10 years of direct experience in financial services, specifically within ESG / Climate sectors.
Strong expertise in equity index investing, index maintenance, and portfolio management/replication.
Experience working within regulated industries such as banking, insurance, or financial services preferred.
Proficient quantitative and analytical skills, with working knowledge of Python.
Excellent client engagement and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail.
Previous experience on a Portfolio Management desk for an Asset Manager is a plus.
