In-house Legal Counsel

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Legal Counsel to join the commercial legal team of a leading UK retail brand, renowned for its strong ethical values, customer-centric approach, and community-focused culture. You’ll play a pivotal role in providing legal support and commercially-focused advice on a wide range of agreements and regulatory matters across the company’s operations. The role offers exposure to supply chain, procurement, logistics, product safety, and compliance, allowing you to grow as a versatile in-house counsel while working closely with a collaborative legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including supply, distribution, procurement, and warehousing contracts.

• Advise on product safety, regulatory compliance, and matters related to quality and supply chain.

• Collaborate with internal teams to provide clear, business-focused legal guidance.

• Gain exposure to competition law, consumer protection, and litigation-related issues.

• Develop strong internal relationships with stakeholders across departments.

• Contribute to the continued development and success of a forward-thinking in-house legal team.

Requirements:

• A qualified solicitor with a strong commercial legal skill set.

• Ideally some experience in competition law, consumer law, or litigation.

• Previous in-house experience is highly desirable but not essential.

• A self-starter with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and innovative retail environment.

• Ability to adapt to a wide variety of legal matters with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
