Description:

Galliford Try is seeking an HS&E Advisor – Environment to join their team in Normanton. The role supports the Framework HS&E Manager in all health, safety, and environmental aspects, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The HS&E Advisor will work closely with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders to implement best practices and maintain exemplary HS&E standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the HS&E strategy and management system to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of a positive HS&E culture in line with Galliford Try’s principles.
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Provide technical guidance to site and line management regarding HS&E programs.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, supply chain partners, and clients.
  • Identify areas for operational efficiency improvements through standardization and automation.
  • Monitor HS&E performance KPIs and implement improvements as required.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
  • Report concerns and escalate HS&E risks to the Framework HS&E Manager.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Awareness of HS&E responsibilities and compliance with policies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to analyze risks and provide strategic input for improvements.
  • Experience in a similar industry with a proven HS&E background.
  • Holds or is working towards a NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
