Description:
Galliford Try is seeking an HS&E Advisor – Environment to join their team in Normanton. The role supports the Framework HS&E Manager in all health, safety, and environmental aspects, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The HS&E Advisor will work closely with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders to implement best practices and maintain exemplary HS&E standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the HS&E strategy and management system to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Support the development of a positive HS&E culture in line with Galliford Try’s principles.
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure safety standards are met.
- Provide technical guidance to site and line management regarding HS&E programs.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, supply chain partners, and clients.
- Identify areas for operational efficiency improvements through standardization and automation.
- Monitor HS&E performance KPIs and implement improvements as required.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Report concerns and escalate HS&E risks to the Framework HS&E Manager.
Skills & Requirements:
- Awareness of HS&E responsibilities and compliance with policies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyze risks and provide strategic input for improvements.
- Experience in a similar industry with a proven HS&E background.
- Holds or is working towards a NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
