Description:
You will be joining a well-established team with a long-standing client base maintaining and installing streetlighting and other highway electrical equipment.
In a typical day, you could expect to be;
- Installation and Maintenance: Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of street lighting infrastructure. This includes lighting lanterns, cables, control panels, and associated electrical components.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues and implement effective solutions to ensure the uninterrupted operation of street lighting infrastructure.
- Testing and Inspection: Conduct testing and inspection of street lighting equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and performance standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency call-outs, such as power outages or faulty lighting, and take appropriate action to restore service.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work activities, including maintenance schedules, inspection reports, and inventory management on a tablet device.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to strict health and safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure the safety of yourself and others while working on-site.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders to prioritize tasks, share information, and deliver high-quality services.
What do I need to be successful in the role?
- You will have an electrical background and will have ideally completed an NVQ Level 3 and AM2, and hold a City and Guilds 2391 qualification or equivalents
- We work in all weathers! So you need to be the type of person who is happy working outdoors all year round.
- A lot of this role will be working at height, so you need to be comfortable with working in a MEWP above the ground.
- We do need you to have a full UK Driving Licence as we cover a wide range of locations
Some of our ‘nice to haves’ are:
- We would look for you to hold IPAF working at heights training
- It would be a benefit if you have a good knowledge of the 18th Edition
- Completion of a G39 Electrical Safety in the planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of public lighting and other street furniture training Course
- An HGV Class 2 Licence
