The role:
As a Head of Risk and Resilience, you will help drive our goals by:
- Drive the enterprise-wide risk strategy, fostering a risk-aware culture and integrating risk insights into decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain the group-wide risk management systems, processes, and framework (ERM), ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, market conditions, and organizational strategies.
- Lead risk reviews and collaborate across management functions to enhance risk-based assurance, acting as the second line of defense while ensuring timely external reporting, including sustainability.
- Oversee business continuity planning, ensuring operational resilience, designing governance frameworks, coordinating crisis responses, and preparing stakeholders for disruptions like natural disasters and cyber-attacks.
- Manage group insurance activities, including overseeing insurance providers, claims management, renewals, and compliance with regulations, while providing guidance on insurance-related matters.
- Lead risk reporting initiatives, engaging with senior stakeholders, guiding decision-making, ensuring compliance, and driving the development of tailored reporting for various organizational levels.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Recognized Risk Management and/ or Insurance Management Qualifications (IRM, APM, or similar) with knowledge of the FCA regulatory regime; understanding of core operational risk concepts and principles. Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) is preferred but not required.
- Proven leadership in managing risk and compliance activities, with extensive experience in implementing key risk management practices, including remediation and preventative measures.
- In-depth understanding of risk management practices, regulatory requirements, and demonstrated capability in strong stakeholder management across complex organizational dynamics.
- Track record of managing high-performing teams in fast-paced environments, with experience in large multinational organizations being a plus.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in change-driven environments, strategic thinking to align risk management with company goals, and effective collaboration, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
