The Retail portfolio is Places for London’s largest asset portfolio valued at over £700m and is made up of over 1,000 retail businesses. We plan to make significant investment into this portfolio over the next 5 years. The growth potential is considerable with ambitions for this role to drive significant revenue growth over the next 10 years.

Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, this is a substantial leadership opportunity where you will have full accountability and be responsible for delivering the 10-year business strategy. You will successfully build and lead a multi-disciplinary team consisting of asset managers, new business, and property managers to deliver long-term sustainable revenue whilst developing them to their best potential in their careers at Places for London.

You will be responsible for creating, leading, and delivering strategies designed to identify new and grow existing opportunities across the Retail asset class. This will involve leading and sponsoring the development of business cases for new retail opportunities, including financial and investment appraisals for new opportunities.

As Head of Retail, you will hold responsibility for the delivery of Places for London’s Net Zero Carbon transition across the Retail portfolio, ensuring adherence to regulatory and legislative requirements. You will work in collaboration with central Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) colleagues to identify the co-benefits between the Retail portfolio and TfL’s operational assets and infrastructure, ensuring the implementation of ESG and sustainability requirements and initiatives within the Retail portfolio.

As a senior leader you will need to influence and build strong relationships with the Places for London’s Executive Committee and their senior leadership teams as well as senior leaders across multiple business areas at TfL to achieve revenue targets. Other key external interfaces will include the GLA, Mayors Office, Local Authorities, and our customers.
