Our Hospital to Home services form a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.

The Head of Retail at Chest Heart Stroke Scotland holds a pivotal leadership position, steering the strategic and operational direction of the charity's retail function to achieve the No Life Half Lived Strategy. This role is responsible for meeting annual income and profit targets, ensuring retail excellence, and fostering a proactive and inclusive culture among staff and volunteers. Key responsibilities include shaping and implementing long-term strategies, diversifying through e-commerce, and forging strategic partnerships. The Head of Retail must ensure that CHSS’s charity shops and online operations offer top-quality customer experiences while playing a crucial role in funding support for people with chest, heart, and stroke conditions. Leadership involves collaboration with fundraising teams, compliance with HR and volunteer policies, and promoting a culture of creativity and accountability. Additionally, the role encompasses budget management, risk assessment, health and safety compliance, and enhancing the charity’s public profile through strategic partnerships and high-level negotiations. Overall, the Head of Retail ensures the retail team is equipped to deliver on CHSS's key strategic objectives, contributing significantly to the charity's mission and financial sustainability.
