Head Of Operations

Description:

Warwick Innovation Group is seeking a Head of Operations to lead the planning, support, and delivery of events, programmes, and engagement within the group. This role includes providing senior operational and administrative management services, supporting the efficient operation of the Innovation Group, and aligning its activities with the University’s strategic goals. The responsibilities include:

• Managing the day-to-day operational delivery of events and programmes.
• Overseeing on- and offline spaces, including the My Innovation Collective website.
• Liaising with business partners and multiple delivery teams across the University.
• Shaping systems and processes for a newly established department, with an opportunity to influence the group’s operations.
• Developing long-term financial strategies, managing budgets, and overseeing grants and income.
• Leading marketing and communications functions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, GDPR, HR policies, and health and safety standards.
• Managing a team and fostering a positive, customer-focused working culture.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior administrator with:

• Strong organizational and project management skills in a complex operational environment.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex organizational challenges.
• Experience in financial planning, budget management, procurement, and compliance.
• Effective communication skills and experience representing a department at a senior level.
• Experience in marketing, communications, or finance would be beneficial.
• A background in innovation, SME support, or incubators would be advantageous.

Warwick Innovation District is an innovation ecosystem that spans Coventry and Warwickshire, bringing together academics, businesses, founders, and investors. The operations team supports a variety of activities, including networking events, workshops, funding routes, and online knowledge exchanges. The department is expanding, driven by successful funding and a focus on regional innovation.
