Based at Inch Park, Edinburgh South have been operating in the Capital's south east since 1969. We run 75 teams including children's football, youths, girls, ladies and amateurs.
We are the largest community football club in the east of scotland and represent more than 1000 players and 200 volunteer coaches and officials.
Edinburgh South Community Football Club is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Head of Operations to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role involves overseeing volunteer management and day-to-day operations of a community football club, ensuring the seamless functioning of the club. The Operations Manager will provide leadership, direction, guidance and support to enable all members of the team to deliver high quality community and football initiatives in accordance with our registered charitable purposes.
Responsibilities:
Volunteer Management:
- Lead the recruitment, training, and deployment of volunteers across various club activities.
- Develop and implement volunteer policies, procedures, and best practices to prioritise the safety and well-being of volunteers and participants.
- Collaborate with other club officials to establish a volunteer program that aligns with the club's needs and enhances member experiences.
Operations Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day operations, including scheduling, facilities management, equipment inventory, and other administrative tasks.
- Ensure the efficient functioning of club activities and events.
Community Engagement:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community organisations, businesses, and sponsors to support club activities and initiatives.
- Contribute to fundraising and marketing efforts, including grant applications, sponsorship proposals, and social media outreach. Some of this funding will be to secure the longevity of this post.
Community Leader:
- Leadership of our heads of years in the community teams
- Mentoring and communicating club information with this group to cascade to other coaches player and parents / Guardians
- Supporting delivery Football pathway inline with our Head of Football
Communication and Coordination:
- Act as a liaison between the club and its members, parents, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to address concerns and ensure a positive club experience for all.
- Operate at all times in accordance with the vision and values of the Club, creating a positive culture across the operation that results in tangible improvements in business performance. Embed a mindset of continuous improvement.
- To support the Chief Exec and Board of Trustees with the implementation of short and long-term strategy and deliver the agreed short and long-term objectives.
- Have an ongoing dialogue with the Chief Exec to ensure they are up to date on day-to-day activities.
- Present new opportunities and developments.
- Providing timely reporting and analysis to the Board
Safeguarding
- Ensuring adherence to football and legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the Club’s legality and business ethics.
- Maintain Health and Safety standards and risk assessments.
Line Management responsibility
- You will lead a small group of staff: Community Coach and Club Administrator- including coaching mentoring, and providing performance feedback.
Additional Duties:
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Chief Exec or other Trustees, contributing to the overall success and growth of the club.
- provide reports which evidence measurable outcomes to the trustees.
