Description:
This role will have leadership responsibilities for approximately 80 engineers at various levels in London and a number of nearshore locations. We have you-build-it-you-run-it teams responsible for all elements of the product in partnership with the product organisation.
You’ll deliver
World class engineering
- Leadership to define and support the teams in doing the right thing and aligning how we work, balancing the autonomy of teams and innovation with standardisation of common technology and process.
- Team management within agreed engineering guardrails and continuously improve performance, encouraging teams to work with agility and deliver value incrementally.
Delivery partnership
- A delivery and quality focused culture across the Engineering teams by creating urgency, control, focus and ensuring business goals are met, proactively solve problems that are slowing teams down or getting in the way of delivery.
- Partnerships across the organisation to ensure engineering goals are aligned. For example, security, cost, and working closely with Product to understand roadmaps and inter-dependencies, supporting teams in delivering against them.
Build and lead a talented team of Engineers
- A culture of leadership in engineering teams and engineering management, ensuring recruitment needs are aligned to future strategic goals, which includes planning across all engineering levels and employment basis (permanent, contract and near shore).
What You’ll Bring
We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
- Leadership of similar sized, diverse engineering organisations (inc. 3rd party) & able to develop management teams, driving towards a common goal
- Engineering, ideally C# but complex backend systems in microservice architectures, event driven systems and multi-tenancy data patterns with high deployment volumes, frequency and scale in the cloud is key
