Description:

You will be key to delivering and aligning ambitious programmes to implement the College’s vision, aims and priorities for education and the student experience.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be managing the overall implementation of the initiatives within the College’s Learning and Teaching Strategy and Imperial Experience academic strategy project and other related initiatives and activities.

You will be managing the overall process of coordinating other relevant education and student experience-related activity and initiatives, ensuring the strategic alignment of existing central and local projects with the Learning and Teaching Strategy, Imperial Experience academic strategy project and/or other related initiatives.

You will be working with the Vice-Provost (Education and Student Experience) and Director of the Education Office and Head of Strategic Projects to contribute to development of the College’s strategic priorities for education and the student experience, leading oversight groups as appropriate.

You will be ensuring that learning, teaching, and student voices are represented throughout the development of strategies, initiatives, and projects related to education and the student experience.

Essential requirements

  • An undergraduate bachelors (FHEQ Level 6) degree with honours ideally in a subject area taught by the College, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working within higher education, with a sound knowledge and understanding of the student experience and the academic environment.
  • Proven management experience of mid-sized teams with an ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Experience of managing significantly sized projects in a higher education environment working with governance functions and a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of working with representatives of a student community to understand their feedback and needs
  • Experience of managing a complex workload
  • Experience of managing communication and consultation activities and processes
  • Understanding of the wider (non-educational) student experience aspects of higher education
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, with use of initiative and a positive approach to identify key issues, and manage own and team’s workload
  • Ability to write concisely and persuasively to a range of audiences, including communications and papers for external publication
  • First rate analytical skills, with the proven ability to understand, interpret and explain complicated data and identify issues of data quality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of people at all levels of seniority
