We are searching for an ambitious Head of Business Development to help us continue the excellent growth trajectory we have achieved over the last few years. We are enthused to reach more clients, to expand our team of specialist consultants and to further develop our service lines.

 

We are looking for a driven, highly capable business development professional with substantial experience within consultancy. There is a key requirement to have pre-existing knowledge of Defence and the wider Defence ecosystem. You must be willing and able to travel to client sites as required. Candidates within reasonable reach of Bristol, Corsham, and Cheltenham are preferable, however candidates located further afield will also be considered.

You will need to be able to work autonomously and be comfortable with remote working. You will need to be adept at generating and maintaining client relationships at a senior level. You will need to have, or be willing to obtain, working knowledge of Cyber & Information Security services well enough to be able to articulate our propositions to our target clients.

 

You will be a member of the i3Secure SLT with a reporting line direct into one of the Executive Directors. You will be responsible for all aspects of the sales lifecycle and will report on sales performance against company targets. You will be required to liaise closely with the Defence Consulting team as well as other members of the SLT to place their consultants into appropriate roles with new and existing clients. You will lead and develop our bid management capability and be responsible for responding to tenders and for capturing other opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic direction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating and maintaining a pipeline of potential clients through networking and marketing leads.
  • Building a balanced sales funnel with opportunities at various stages.
  • Preparing cost estimates and quotes for potential clients.
  • Understand our win/loss rate and implementing improvements
  • Negotiating contract terms and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and nurturing client relationships to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  • Providing excellent after-sales support to retain customers and generate recurring revenue.
  • Leading the marketing strategy to develop a strong brand identity and value proposition, decide on the right promotional tools, execute the promotional strategy.
  • Selecting and executing promotional tools and strategies to attract and retain clients.
  • Participating in the evolution of business strategies.
  • Continuously improving the service offerings and sales strategies.

 

Skills required:

  • Over 5 years of experience in complex sales within Defence/ Public Sector
  • Relevant degree in business
  • Experience of leading Defence/Public Sector bids
  • Proven track record of winning significant contracts and delivering solutions.
  • Experience in forecasting, sales pipeline analysis, sales targeting, financial analysis, customer service, and project management.
  • Marketing experience to develop and execute effective promotional strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in winning contracts of significant value, delivering the contracted products/services and generating recurring revenue/repeat business
