We have an amazing opportunity to join a prominent retail group in the UK, which is rapidly expanding with over 170 stores across the country!
We are currently seeking a highly qualified Group Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) to join team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely consolidated group accounts, preparing financial statements, conducting audits, and analysing financial data. Responsibilities
· Produce accurate monthly consolidated Group accounts to tight deadline.
· Preparation of monthly balance sheet reporting for the group entities.
· Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations for the group entities.
· Take ownership of smaller entities’ monthly management accounts.
· Provide monthly commentary on variances to budget and reforecast.
· Responsible for all entities’ VAT return and be the main liaison for VAT queries.
· Take ownership of Group tax planning and all aspect of taxation matter.
· Group planning for accounting compliance and new legislation.
· Owner of Group Policies and ensuring internal compliance.
· Ownership of intercompany reconciliations and forecasting.
· Produce monthly bank reporting and commentary.
· Produce and forecast quarterly banking covenants to ensure compliance.
· Support and input into the annual budget and periodic forecasting to produce the final consolidation.
· Continuous review and improvements of internal audit procedures.
· Assist in preparation of statutory accounts and annual audit.
· Complete dormant entity statuary accounts to filing.
· Ad-Hoc reporting and project for the business.
Skills & Experience
1. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
2. Experience working with group consolidations, accounts preparation and audit in either practice or industry.
3. Experience with communicating financial information to non-finance colleagues.
4. Familiar with accounting packages ideally Unit 4 or similar.
5. Intermediate experience of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
6. Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with individuals and with a wide variety of organisations and audiences.
7. Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise tasks, handle pressure and support finance team.
