Description:
We are seeking a motivated and talented electrical engineering graduate to join our growing construction management team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and management of the construction our co-located transmission connected solar and battery storage projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain experience and develop expertise in electrical engineering (with a focus on protection and control, and power system studies) and project management within the renewable energy sector. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for solar and battery projects.
- Oversee contractor and technical specialists undertaking grid compliance studies.
- Perform site visits / inspections and assessments to support project planning and execution.
- Provide input into technical specifications.
- Prepare technical / management reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Review contractor commissioning and testing of electrical systems.
- Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in renewable energy.
- Support grid code compliance process with NGET and NESO.
- Support the Project Managers in tracking progress and programme, design, quality, risks and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support the Project Managers with interface management.
- Support with permitting (discharge of conditions, planning applications).
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficient in MS office tools (specifically excel and MS project).
- Clear and concise report writing.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Familiarity with UK electrical standards and regulations.
- Previous internship or project experience in the renewable energy / engineering sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in protection and control, and power system studies.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, specifically solar and battery storage technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
- Fluent in English.
