Graduate Electrical Engineer

 

Description:

We are seeking a motivated and talented electrical engineering graduate to join our growing construction management team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and management of the construction our co-located transmission connected solar and battery storage projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain experience and develop expertise in electrical engineering (with a focus on protection and control, and power system studies) and project management within the renewable energy sector. You will be working in a collaborative and down-to-earth team with a hands-on work ethic. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for solar and battery projects.
  • Oversee contractor and technical specialists undertaking grid compliance studies.
  • Perform site visits / inspections and assessments to support project planning and execution.
  • Provide input into technical specifications.
  • Prepare technical / management reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review contractor commissioning and testing of electrical systems.
  • Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in renewable energy.
  • Support grid code compliance process with NGET and NESO.
  • Support the Project Managers in tracking progress and programme, design, quality, risks and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support the Project Managers with interface management.
  • Support with permitting (discharge of conditions, planning applications).
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.

 

Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in MS office tools (specifically excel and MS project).
  • Clear and concise report writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Familiarity with UK electrical standards and regulations.
  • Previous internship or project experience in the renewable energy / engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in protection and control, and power system studies.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems, specifically solar and battery storage technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Fluent in English.
