Description:

Gorilla Circus, an Arts Council NPO, circus production company, and flying trapeze school, is recruiting a General Manager to support its operations in the following areas:

  • NPO Management
  • Administration & Organization
  • Data Collection & Processing
  • Communications
  • Human Resources (HR)
  • Policy & Monitoring
  • Finance & Fundraising Support
  • General Support for Team Members

This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team producing large-scale outdoor and indoor circus performances, broadening community engagement in the arts, and developing innovative circus productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day administration, data processing, and HR functions.
  • Manage and support fundraising efforts.
  • Assist with Arts Council England reporting and policy compliance.
  • Support team members with general administrative and operational tasks.
  • Coordinate communications, social media, and marketing efforts.
  • Travel to different locations across the UK for work engagements.

About You:

We are looking for individuals with a passion for circus, theatre, and live performance, and skills in administration, organization, and management. You don’t need all the skills listed, but some of the following would be ideal:

  • Experience in theatre/live performance administration.
  • Knowledge of Arts Council England’s Let’s Create strategy and reporting.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp), social media tools, and website back-office systems.
  • Experience with online accounting software.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely while collaborating effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Working Conditions:

  • Hours: 32 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 10am–6pm, with flexibility)
  • Some evening and weekend work required (especially during live performances)
  • Contract: Fixed-term, 12 months (starting April 2025, with potential for extension)
  • Holiday: 25 days (pro rata) + public holidays
