Frontend Developer Apprentice

Description:

You will be creating and maintaining web pages for multiple web applications using the React framework. This role requires a foundational understanding of web development principles. You will collaborate closely with experienced members of the team to ensure efficient application performance and to uphold the level of standard for our web applications. Your tasks will include debugging and resolving issues, implementing user interface improvements, and contributing to the development of new features. Through hands-on experience, you will deepen your understanding of React, Tailwind CSS and TypeScript, while also learning the best practices in code versioning, reviews and documentation.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

• Creating/editing web pages to suit a design, using HTML and CSS.
• Using React to build interactivity into a web page.
• Creating responsive web pages.
• Proactively looking for and resolve user-facing bugs.
• Defining types of data structures using TypeScript.
• Managing the codebase using Git and GitHub.
• Functional testing new features.
• Following agile scrum practices.
• Using browser developer tools to test code & diagnose issues.
• Communicating and collaborating with stakeholders and team members.
• Being able to solve problems in a logical way.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills Required:

• Good HTML, CSS and React knowledge.
• Knowledge of Tailwind CSS is desirable.
• Good JavaScript knowledge, TypeScript is desirable.
• Ability to follow design patterns.
• Understanding of version control and usage of Git
• Python is desirable.
