Description:
Orion, a VC-backed startup developing next-generation risk infrastructure, is looking for a Front-End Engineer to join its fast-paced and growing team based in London. The company is focused on delivering site-level intelligence for enterprise and government users navigating a volatile world.
This hybrid role blends front-end development and design, ideal for someone passionate about creating powerful interfaces from complex data. As the 8th team member, you’ll work closely with the CTO and manage two junior frontend/devops engineers. You will play a pivotal role in shaping user experience and visual design, translating high-frequency data into clean, intuitive tools for real-world decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement dynamic, data-intensive UIs using Vue.js
Collaborate with the team to shape the look, feel, and functionality of Orion’s core product
Manage and mentor junior frontend/devops engineers
Work with geospatial visualizations and layered data tools
Integrate frontend systems with complex APIs and backend data pipelines
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in JavaScript, particularly Vue.js
Advanced UI/UX design skills with hands-on Figma experience
Experience working on data-heavy interfaces (maps, charts, intelligence dashboards)
Familiarity with ETL pipelines and structured backend data
Exposure to backend technologies such as GraphQL, REST APIs, and data handling workflows
