The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:
- Run an effective welfare system that enables people to achieve financial independence by providing assistance and guidance into employment
- Increase saving for, and security in later life
- Create a fair and affordable welfare system which improves the life chances of children
- Deliver outstanding services to our customers and claimants
- Deliver efficiently: transform the way we deliver our services to reduce costs and increase productivity
As a Front-End Developer your main responsibilities will be:
- Responsible for building accessible and performant interfaces across multiple devices and browsers.
- Responsible for Integrating into Back-end services, working with cross-functional teams to ensure services are built to high standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that the design and implementation of services is consistent, both internally and with the rest of wider UK government services.
- Responsible for seeing the bigger picture within which the service operates to help define and maintain standards.
- Responsible for Identifying and understanding technical and business constraints, and responsible for work within them whilst contributing back to existing government frameworks.
- Responsible for undertaking training to upskill on Front-end development techniques, methods and tools to further develop knowledge and skills.
