Freelance Teacher Trainer

You will be an experienced teacher, Advanced Practitioner, middle or senior leader looking for an opportunity to make the best of your pedagogical knowledge and teaching experience to support graduates coming into the teaching profession. You will know the Core Content Framework inside out and be able to offer our trainees clear, actionable feedback that will draw on the best pedagogical practice and move them forward. You will be an efficient, reliable and responsive communicator who can role-model good practice and inspire trust from our trainees. You will also understand the challenges currently faced by trainees and by schools and be able to handle meetings with, and visits to our partnership schools with tact and diplomacy.

You will need to:

• Have a positive outlook on the teaching profession
• Be an experienced teacher with proven experience of coaching and/or mentoring
• Possess a patient, amenable and positive nature whilst having high expectations of our trainees
• Have a calm, organised and supportive manner that will encourage good relationships with our partnership schools
• Have an extremely high standard of written and spoken English and an eye for detail
• Be able to recommend wider reading based on the best teaching and learning research available
• Have undertaken and written up formal lesson observations during your teaching career
• Maintain an interest in current developments in teaching and learning research
• Have an excellent understanding of the Teachers’ Standards, CCF and ECT Framework
• Be an advocate for Grad2Teach and our model of teacher training

It would be great if you:

• Had specialist experience teaching Humanities, Business and Music
• Had created and delivered INSET and/or other training in your school/s
• Had completed Outreach work with schools in your local area or are an active member of a teaching network, either local or national
