At House of Five Studio, we’re more than a branding agency — we’re a purpose-driven partner for women-, minority-, and LGBTQIA+-led businesses. We help companies bridge the gap between passion and professionalism. What We're Looking For

We’re seeking a freelance or contract Creative Designer to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic small-business environment and is equally adept at graphic design and website creation. You’ll work closely with our internal team to support marketing initiatives, design visuals for Meta ads, and deliver exceptional creative solutions for our clients.

Success in this role looks like delivering polished, creative designs on time, maintaining clear communication with the team, and consistently meeting client expectations.

You should be:

  • Experienced in graphic design and comfortable with platforms like Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, or Framer.
  • Independent and capable of managing projects and deadlines without constant oversight.
  • Adaptable and willing to align with our workflows, representing House of Five Studio in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Familiar with the realities of freelancing, including handling feedback, communication, and revisions.
  • A mid-level professional who brings solid expertise and experience to the role. This position is ideal for someone who has moved beyond entry-level work but isn’t yet seeking senior-level opportunities. We aim to offer a competitive rate that reflects your skills and aligns with our budget.

Requirements

  • Location: London-based or willing to travel to London approximately once a month for meetings.
  • Equipment: Your own tools, including Adobe subscriptions or similar design software.

Skills:

  • Honest and open communicator, comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities or client needs.
  • Collaborative, with a team-focused approach.
  • Organised and capable of working on ad-hoc tasks.
  • Aligned with our mission and vision.

Mindset:

  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small-business setting.
  • Open to learning on the go and taking on new challenges as they arise.

What We Offer

  • Pay on a project or hourly basis (to be discussed).
  • Mentoring opportunities if desired.
  • A chance to contribute to a purpose-driven business striving to support minority-led enterprises.
  • Flexibility in working hours, provided deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • An opportunity to be part of a growing agency making a meaningful impact, with room to contribute ideas, shape projects, and expand your portfolio.
  • While the workload will vary, you can generally expect 10 hours per month, with room for growth as we take on more projects.

Good to Know

  • As a small business, we value a hands-on, all-in approach. Everyone pitches in when needed.
  • While we’re flexible about how and when you work, agreed-upon deadlines and turnaround times are non-negotiable.
  • We’re young business owners finding our footing, so don’t expect a corporate-style setting — we’re building something meaningful, and we’d love for you to grow with us.
  • We value open communication — you can’t disappear for weeks, but we trust you to manage your time responsibly.
  • We value flexibility and practicality—if Canva is the best solution for a client, we expect you to embrace it without hesitation or snobbery.
  • We are committed to building an inclusive workplace that values diversity in all forms. Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • We are a close-knit team who believe in open communication, creativity, and collaboration. Whether brainstorming ideas or celebrating milestones, we strive to create a positive, supportive environment.
