Description:
We are looking for a fire safety engineer of high technical calibre who can work both independently and within the wider delivery team. The individual must have a good working knowledge on UK and international fire codes in addition to performance-based design approaches.
Working alongside other senior fire engineers and the wider multidisciplinary team, the role will involve:
- Developing fire safety strategies: notably for all sectors of the buildings and infrastructure
- Reviewing designs against current codes of practice, analysing and designing solutions to bespoke fire engineering problems
- Working alongside other internal/external technical disciplines to provide advice best suited to the project and the Client
- Specifying and interpreting fire and smoke modelling studies (experience of Fire Dynamics Simulator required)
- Planning and supervising fire engineering design work, from concept to detailed design stages
- Overseeing and coordinating site-based work, such building familiarisation and surveying by specialist teams
- Ensuring that our work is delivered to programme and budget
- Ensuring that our work is delivered to the necessary level of quality
- Undertaking formal peer reviews of project work, both internal and external
- Liaising with project stakeholders at all levels and providing technical advice
- Developing relationships with key clients and supporting business development
- Assisting with resource planning
- Managing their own projects via the company finance systems when required
- You will report to the Fire engineering leader and be based in our London office .
