Financial Controller

Description:

Optimised, a purpose-driven organization focused on delivering energy and sustainability solutions, is looking for a Financial Controller to join their expanding finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role involves overseeing financial reporting, compliance, team leadership, and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals.

• Manage financial processes from order to cash.

• Oversee year-end accounts and audits.

• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and financial regulations.

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and risk mitigation.

• Improve finance processes for efficiency and accuracy.

• Prepare financial reports and commentary for leadership teams.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and periodic budget revisions.

• Act as the main point of contact for payroll management.

• Build strong relationships with banks, investors, and external stakeholders.

• Provide strategic financial insight to support business growth.

Requirements:

✅ 2-3 years post-qualification experience in finance/accounting.
✅ Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and financial reporting.
✅ Experience managing month-end reporting in a Group structure.
✅ Proficiency in statutory reporting and consolidated group accounts.
✅ Advanced Excel and IT skills.
✅ Strong business partnering experience.
✅ Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
✅ Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
✅ A purpose-driven mindset with a passion for sustainability.
✅ Full UK driver’s license and right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Group finance structure.

• Knowledge of risk management strategies.
