Trinity House Group is delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with a market-leading SME to recruit a Financial Controller based in Tipton. The business is undergoing a significant transition, requiring a proactive and ambitious professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the Finance Director, with a primary focus on strengthening internal controls, improving management information, and implementing finance processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
- Generation of weekly KPI reports to provide visibility into margin analysis and production output.
- Conducting cost analysis to identify key variances and trends.
- Compiling annual budgets and forecasts to ensure financial delivery aligned with the strategic plan.
- VAT returns and HMRC compliance management.
- Identifying and implementing improvements in finance systems, processes, and procedures to enhance business intelligence and operational efficiencies.
- Leading the annual audit process.
- Overseeing ledger accuracy, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
Candidate Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification (or relevant experience).
- Proven experience in an SME environment with a strong commercial acumen.
- Ability to build strong relationships with non-financial stakeholders for a collaborative approach.
- Resilient and proactive self-starter, capable of problem-solving and implementing solutions.
- Prior experience managing or leading a small finance team (or looking to step up into a leadership role).
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Positive and adaptable approach in a high-growth, fast-paced business environment.
