Clearcast is a television advertising services company owned by commercial TV broadcasters ITV, Sky Media, Channel 4 and Warner Media.

 

Its core service provides pre-clearance of TV and Video on Demand (VoD) ads to ensure they don’t cause harm, mislead or offend by checking they meet the requirements of the UK Code of Broadcast Advertising and the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising codes.

 

Clearcast is a partner in the advertising process from script to screen and offers additional services to make it easy for brands to advertise responsibly. These commercial services include CPD Training, Fast Track Clearance and Copy Development. More recently, Clearcast has grown its service offerings which include the delivery and subtitling of ads and a full TV Admin service.

The role

As the Financial Controller you will support the Finance Director and hold responsibility for the comprehensive financial management of Clearcast, ensuring financial health and compliance. This role plays a vital part in driving financial efficiency, transparency and growth.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who will develop a small team of finance professionals and foster a culture of collaboration, growth and continuous improvement within the finance department.

 

What will you be doing?

 

Financial Reporting and Analysis

·      Prepare and analyse financial statements. Including balance sheet, income statement and cashflow statement.

·      Provide insights into financial trends, variance and KPI’s to aid strategic decision making.

 

Budgeting and Forecasting

·      Develop, monitor and manage budgets in coordination with various departments and senior management.

·      Forecast financial outcomes based on market trends, past financial performance and business initiatives.

 

Compliance and Risk Management

·      Ensure compliance with relevant laws and accounting standards.

·      Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and maintain the integrity of financial data.

 

Financial Operations Management

·      Accounts Payable, processing invoices, purchase orders and ensuring budget compliance.

·      Supervise and coordinate day to day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.

·      Optimise processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting

 

Cash Flow Management

·      Monitor cashflow, liquidity and working capital to ensure the financial stability of the company and aid the ability to meet its financial obligations.

 

Audits and External Relations

·      Coordinate financial audits and collaborate with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely completion of audit processes.

·      Interact with stakeholders both internal and external to provide financial updates and information.

 

Financial Software and Technology

·      Assist in the implementation of new financial software

·      Utilise financial software and tools to streamline processes, maintain data accuracy and generate financial reports

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
• Commercial experience with a good technical grounding in financial control
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience of training, motivating and developing mixed ability teams
• Proven relationship builder, credible influencing
• Effective at managing a small finance team
