Description:

Westway CT, a non-profit social enterprise, is seeking an experienced and qualified Finance Manager due to retirement. This role presents an exciting opportunity to oversee the financial management of two interconnected entities—a registered society and its trading arm, which supports and subsidizes the organization's charitable objectives.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Manager will play a key role in driving the financial sustainability of Westway CT, ensuring efficient financial planning and contributing to the organization's long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the finance function, including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting.

  • Prepare statutory accounts, VAT, PAYE, and pension reports while ensuring compliance with charity governance and reporting standards.

  • Conduct financial scenario planning and cost analysis to assist in strategic and operational decision-making (e.g., investments, grant applications, contract tendering, pricing, and credit control).

  • Lead and mentor the Finance Officer, providing effective leadership and fostering professional growth.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Sage 50, or similar accounting software for financial management.

Key Requirements:

  • Accredited accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

  • Proven experience managing a finance function, preferably within the non-profit sector.

  • Strong understanding of charity finance regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and pension laws.

  • Experience in financial planning, scenario analysis, and cost assessments.

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities efficiently.

  • Strong leadership skills to provide effective line management to the Finance Officer.
