Finance Manager

Pertemps are currently working for a growing organisation who are leader within their industry based in Glasgow who are looking to expand their finance team and currently have a requirement for a Finance Manager to become an integral part of their vibrant team. In this role, you’ll wield significant influence in upholding the financial wellbeing and sustainability of the business, offering insightful financial strategies and fostering financial optimisation across all aspects of the business.

Key responsibilities:

 

Working with an experienced CFO, you will report to the COO with a dotted line to the MD. Your strategic involvement at a senior level will steer the business toward achieving its financial objectives.

 

- Finance Planning and Analysis – Oversee annual budgets, forecasts, expenses and capital requirements. Conduct analysis of our performance, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team, while monitoring KPIs to track our financial health.

- Financial Reporting – Prepare timely financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow projections, ensuring compliance with all UK accounting standards including VAT and tax reporting.

- Cashflow Management – Mange cashflows in line with expenditure and forecasting requirements, identifying opportunities for cost savings.

- Client billing and Revenue Recognition – Oversee client billing and invoice processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Manage revenue recognition (Work In Progress -WIP) to support resourcing and recruitment needs, analysing the financial impacts of projects.

- Risk Management – Identify financial risks and develop strategies for mitigation. Stay updated on changes in industry practice and regulations.

- Team leadership and management – Provide leadership, support and mentorship to your team, fostering a culture of continuous development and growth.

- Collaboration – Engage with all departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives, promoting a collaborative approach.

 

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Finance Manager, or similar role
  • Sound knowledge of UK accounting principles, taxation, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including accounting software (e.g. Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information in an easily digestible way to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to inspire and develop a finance team.
  • Experience in engaging with C-Suite level individuals and senior leaders.
