Description:
We are looking for a Finance & Operations Executive to work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the finance, governance and administration of the business as we scale. You will work with internal stakeholders to assist company operations and provide functional support, driving efficiency within the team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with various stakeholders and be involved in multiple strands across the business. This role offers the opportunity for significant learning and professional development in a fast-paced industry and would be ideal for an early-stage professional (min 2-3 year business experience) looking to develop their career in a fast-scaling start-up. The role will lend itself to progress into other functional areas over time.
What you will do:
Finance:
- Assist the company payment process, including invoices and expenses
- Cash flow management, financial forecasting and analysis
- Financial reporting: help compile information for claims, reports and other analysis
- Oversee payroll process and employee pension documentation
- Work with outsourced bookkeepers to submit monthly accounts, crosscheck and controls, support with other accounting tasks
- Support fundraising activities and processes
Governance
- Support company governance and administration management
- Adhere to relevant processes and contribute to the development of new processes as required
- Provide governance support in relation to submitting tenders
HR
- Recruitment: monitor and update internal inboxes and systems, screen applications, coordinate interviews, and provide administrative support
- Support all areas of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding, induction and training, and performance management
- Maintain business and employee files, ensuring all records and databases are up to date
Other
- Manage company bookings, including travel and accommodation arrangements
- Functional support, such as diary management and scheduling, maintaining notes and files, and producing correspondence and documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Additional general administrative and operational duties where necessary
- Other reasonable requests to deliver the business needs
What we are looking for:
- Early-stage professional with 2-3 years business experience
- Talented and ambitious self-starter, with the desire to learn and grow in an exciting industry
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Strong numeracy skills, and solid Excel skills (advanced Excel skills is desirable)
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, and a high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and solid writing skills
- Strong IT skills, with the ability to grasp a variety of platforms and systems (e.g., MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, CRM software, Social Media Platforms, Bookkeeping)
- An analytical mind, with the ability to think strategically and demonstrate proactive problem solving
- Experience working in a similar role is desirable
- Foreign languages desirable
- Experience with financial and accounting tools and software (e.g. Xero and Stripe) is desirable
