Themis Recruit are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Solicitor to join our esteemed Family Law Department. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, providing expert legal advice and representation to clients. This role requires excellent client care skills, strong legal knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Manage a varied caseload of family law matters including divorce, child custody, financial settlements, domestic violence, and cohabitation disputes.
- Client Interaction: Provide compassionate and comprehensive advice to clients, ensuring they are informed of their legal rights and options.
- Legal Representation: Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations.
- Documentation: Prepare and review legal documents including affidavits, witness statements, and agreements.
- Research: Conduct legal research to ensure the provision of accurate and up-to-date legal advice.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues within the Family Law Department and other departments to provide holistic legal solutions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of family law and related areas.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in family law.
Requirements
- Education: Qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience in family law.
- Legal Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of family law, including recent developments and legislative changes.
- Client Care: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Advocacy: Strong advocacy skills with experience representing clients in court.
- Organization: Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support junior colleagues.
- Technology: Proficiency in using legal practice management software and other relevant IT tools.
