Events Officer

 

Description:

The University of Warwick is seeking an Events Officer (WMG) to work closely with the Development and Alumni Engagement team to plan and deliver a range of engaging alumni and supporter events. You will help foster mutually beneficial relationships in support of the University’s strategy, particularly focusing on Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), which drives innovation across digital technologies, energy, materials, and intelligent vehicles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering alumni and supporter engagement events, including in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
  • Collaborating across the University to develop event strategies and ensure successful execution.
  • Curating unique experiences to maximize attendee engagement.
  • Managing budgets for each project and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders, including students and the University Executive board.
  • Handling sensitive information while complying with GDPR.

The role requires flexibility and the willingness to work outside of usual office hours to support alumni engagement events as needed.


Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in planning and delivering events, particularly in fundraising, alumni engagement, marketing, communications, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience with digital and hybrid events, and managing complex logistics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail to ensure the best possible attendee experience.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage budgets.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information in compliance with GDPR.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to pre-empt problems and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work outside normal office hours when required.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working in Higher Education or with international stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with alumni engagement tools such as Raiser’s Edge or Blackbaud Enterprise CRM.
