About The Role
- The Environmental and IMS Compliance Officer supports Draeger’s Environmental Management System including updating the Environmental Management manual, data collection, analysis, reporting, compliance and audits.
- The ability to organise environmental data to facilitate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles is critical and having an analytical mind when using numerical data is a key requirement. This will allow ongoing analysis of key environmental performance measures such as energy intensity and carbon footprint.
- The role requires the ability to read and understand customer environmental queries encountered in bids and tenders and respond appropriately to ensure we are providing accurate information.
- Participate in environmental investigations and regular sample collection for proof of compliance for our trade effluent discharge and compliance with our Environmental Permit with Northumberland Council for solvents.
- Create plans and procedures for topics such as spill prevention, dealing with hazardous waste and improving air quality. Ensure group procedures are effectively implemented for ISO14001 compliance.
- Prepare data for the Environmental Team and actively participate in meetings including tracking and follow up of actions to ensure ongoing improvement in environmental performance.
- Actively supports company corporate standards update and implementation in the form of new procedures into the IMS.
- Point of contact for environmental data submission to group data reporting for environmental information.
- Identify changes to legislation that impact our business and put actions in place to ensure compliance

Manager IMS and Environmental Systems Manager
Size of team/environment Team of 2 people directly, 1 person part time supporting with admin. Office based.
Your Qualifications
- Environmental engineering or environmental science degree desirable or relevant experience.
- Industry experience in an environmental role highly desirable with a preference for candidates who have experience in performing WEEE, battery and packaging reporting.
- Great organizational skills with data, report preparation and software tools such as Power BI.
- Having an analytical mind when using numerical data is a key requirement.
- Ability to work on own initiative will be required as part of the role.
- Must be able to work in a professional manner with various functions and levels throughout the business
