Environment & Sustainability Manager

This role shall provide an excellent opportunity for an individual to be part of a growing rail and engineering business. The role consists of line management of the function’s dedicated Environmental Consents Advisor, active participation in the development of and delivery of our business Sustainability strategy, bid support to ongoing new opportunities as well as number of important regionally specific functions which are outlined below.

As Environment & Sustainability Manager, your day to day duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
 

• Line Management of the function’s dedicated Environmental Consents Advisor
• To support the SHEQ Department in the development and delivery of strategic Sustainability objectives
• To undertake and report preliminary environmental surveys of work sites and advise operational staff of appropriate mitigation and enhancement measures
• To work with the Environmental Consents Advisor to ensure that the relevant environmental consents are in place prior to works
• To undertake audits and inspections to check for compliance and good practice
• To provide advice and assistance to AmcoGiffen staff and employees on environmental and sustainability issues in the North East region
• To actively support the company’s work winning and bidding activities
• To liaise with AmcoGiffen employees, Clients and third parties such as environmental regulators
• To maintain good communications with the regional health and safety and operational teams and the Head Office SHEQ team
