Description:
Johnson Matthey, a global leader in sustainable technologies, is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Designer to support their ongoing development efforts. The role involves creating and developing electrical and instrumentation design drawings, managing construction and demolition requirements, identifying testing requirements, and assisting with troubleshooting for modifications and new installations. This position is integral to the site's continuous improvement activities and supports new capital project developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimation of costings for E/I design and installation.
Design and modification of schematic diagrams, single line diagrams, loop drawings, cable routing drawings, panel layout drawings, block cable diagrams, and motor control centres.
Drafting of scopes of work, bill of materials, termination schedules, equipment data sheets, cable schedules, labelling schedules, proof testing documents, and cable transfer documents.
Supporting the installation supervisor by providing design packs and technical support.
Conducting FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) on-site and at supplier locations.
Requirements:
HNC in Electrical Design or equivalent experience.
Significant practical design experience on a Top Tier COMAH site within a process or manufacturing environment.
A strong understanding of P&ID’s, line diagrams, process data sheets, and mechanical drawings.
Experience with Trimble Pro Design to calculate/confirm cable sizing and protection.
Competence in the use of AutoCAD 2019.
A working knowledge in low voltage power system design.
