We are a dynamic and rapidly growing systems integration company specialising in automation, robotics, and special-purpose machinery. To support our continued growth, we are seeking an accomplished Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in designing complex automation systems and bespoke machinery solutions. This role is critical in driving innovative electrical design and development for a global client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create comprehensive electrical schematics and system diagrams using advanced design tools, including EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or Solidworks Electrical, ensuring accuracy and clarity for complex automation and robotic systems.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into complex machinery designs, supporting the overall functionality and performance of automated and robotic solutions.
- Define, specify, and select critical electrical components such as motors, drives, control systems, actuators, and linear systems, ensuring optimal performance, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness for special-purpose machinery.
- Ensure that all electrical designs meet or exceed relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, maintaining a high level of compliance and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead efforts in the continuous improvement of electrical design processes, tools, and standards, enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and quality of the systems delivered to our clients.
- Work closely with project management to understand project requirements, deliverables, and timelines, providing technical expertise and support throughout the design, development, and commissioning phases.
- Oversee and support the assembly, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and optimal performance.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all electrical designs, project activities, and progress, ensuring traceability and transparency across all projects.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team, driving excellence in all aspects of electrical design and development.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in electrical design for automation, robotics, special-purpose machinery, and complex machinery solutions.
- High proficiency in using electrical design software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or Solidworks Electrical.
- In-depth understanding of specifying and selecting electrical components for machinery projects, including motors, drives, control systems, actuators, and linear systems.
- Strong familiarity with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to electrical design for automated and robotic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project costs and adhere to budgetary constraints while maintaining design quality and performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of effective teamwork and collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
