Are you passionate about data and economics? Do you have an eye for detail and a knack for uncovering trends? In this 6 month contract, you'll respond to media requests with insightful analyses of labour market data, helping to illuminate crucial trends in the global labour market.
Responsibilities:
- Rapid Response: Quickly address inbound media requests about labour market trends.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with team members to deliver comprehensive responses.
- Data Analysis: Apply established methodologies to explore new trends.
- Technical Skills: Analyse large datasets using R and the tidyverse suite, creating compelling graphs and tables with ggplot2.
- Communication: Write up research findings for media and internal publications, making complex data accessible to non-experts.
Requirements:
- Experience: 1-4 years in economic research or data analysis. Strong candidates with a data-driven Master's degree and at least one year of experience are welcome.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in R (especially tidyverse and ggplot2)). Python and SQL knowledge is a plus.
- Data Familiarity: Experience with UK and Euro Area economic data, including ONS and Eurostat.
- Tools: Proficiency with Git or other version control tools.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral skills, with the ability to explain data trends clearly.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in your work, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
