This project aims to redefine cancer biomarker discovery and validation. Targeting the limitations of existing survival analysis for continuous variables like gene expression, we will develop a novel multivariate proportional hazards method which will be rigorously authenticated utilising open-access cancer datasets. This approach will meticulously assess biomarker-survival relationships, integrating clinical variables to enhance predictive accuracy. The project's deliverables, an innovative R package and web portal for biomarker validation designed for both researchers and clinicians, promise to make sophisticated biomarker validation techniques widely accessible, fostering development of more personalised and effective cancer treatments.
