Connect to your opportunity As the Director of M&A Technology, you will lead the strategy, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships in corporate and private equity M&A. You will be responsible for driving and contributing to our practice growth by identifying key opportunities, managing teams to deliver on due diligence engagements, separation or integration programmes, engaging with clients and becoming a spokesperson for M&A Technology across the wider firm as well as in the market.This role requires deep expertise in both M&A processes and a strong understanding of technology trends, digital transformation, and innovation.Responsibilities:As part of the director team, lead M&A Technology strategy and execution by identifying and evaluating deal opportunities on buy and sell side and across the full deal life cycle from pre- to post dealManage client engagements by onboarding the tech team, coordinating the engagement and deliverables with internal peer groups, oversee the engagement and deliverables within the M&A Tech team, ensure timeliness, quality and efficient delivery of high-quality client deliverables and pursuit of follow-on opportunitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams by working closely with executive leadership, legal, finance, product, and technology teams to ensure seamless execution of transactionsBuild and mentor a high-performing M&A team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovationContribute to practice growth by developing marketing collateral and helping shape value propositions and publishing market or M&A related insightsSupport and deliver the development of high-quality transaction documentation e.g. IT integration or separation blueprints, Transitional Service Agreements, status reports, SteerCo reports and papers addressing strategic issuesDevelop your expertise in reporting to senior executives, facilitating large workshops, benefits tracking, change control and stakeholder managementTake ownership for quality and risk management, ensuring that all client work is delivered consistently complying with Deloitte quality and risk rules and guidelines.Manage, mentor and help grow a diverse team to increase capabilities and capacity as we grow our M&A Tech practiceConnect to your skills and professional experience Essential:Extensive experience in M&A, with a significant portion of that experience within the technology sectorProven track record of leading complex technology transactions, including sourcing, negotiating, and integrating dealsStrong knowledge of technology markets, including emerging trends in cloud computing, AI, software, SaaS, and digital transformationExpertise in financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence for M&A transactions.Relevant experience in at least one of the following industries: consumer goods, energy and utilities, industrials, technology and media, or life sciencesExcellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization, internally and externallyExceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present clearly in presentation or pitches including senior level stakeholders; ideally comfortable in corporate and private equity board roomsStrategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to evaluate potential acquisition opportunities in line with long-term business objectivesBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferredFull travel mobilityConnect to your business - Strategy, Risk & Transactions Advisory In an ever-evolving world, there are no certainties in business.
