Description:
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, problem-solving attorney who possesses outstanding business judgement, creativity, persuasive writing capabilities, high emotional intelligence, and an ability to work independently. The successful candidate will be someone who can balance multiple projects simultaneously and embrace teaming on cross-functional projects that touch on a variety of legal issues.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with CLO and senior executives on Legal matters
- Support M&A activities
- Review, draft and negotiate various corporate transactional documents and agreements
- Identify and advise appropriate partners of business and legal risks
- Support other Legal team members, including related to issues outside of Softbank and M&A
- Facilitate cross-functional relationships and decision-making among the Legal team and other internal business teams
- Manage outside counsel
Required Skills And Experience
- Proven experience with a top-tier UK law firm in handling complex Legal matters and M&A transactions, preferably involving technology companies
- Degree from an accredited law school with excellent credentials
- Able to work at pace and negotiate effectively with persons at various levels of experience while building strong and positive relationships based on mutual trust
- Actively seeking out and encouraging alternative perspectives and ideas by being curious and embracing difference
- Carefully crafting work that will deliver impactful results by applying critical thinking to proposed actions
- Demonstrating a positive attitude in embracing challenges by gaining insight from team experiences and being receptive to feedback
“Nice To Have” Skills And Experience
- In-house experience is preferred, especially if it includes exposure to other substantive legal areas but is not a crucial requirement for the right candidate
