Description:

As part of our digital transformation programme, SSE are looking for a skilled Digital Product Designer to join the central Brand and Design team to play a key role in developing, managing and rolling out a digital pattern library across the organisation, supporting projects and business areas with the development of internal and external technology platforms, websites, templates and digital assets.

Key Responsibilities for this role will include:

Brand management: Work closely with the designers in the SSE Group Brand team and marketing teams across SSE businesses to manage, develop and enhance SSE's digital presence, including ensuring the design components library aligns to SSE Group's brand identity and delivers brand consistency across internal and external platforms.

Digital asset development: Develop branded digital templates and assets for advertising and social media to enable teams to deliver assets quickly and efficiently.

Digital Components Library: Play a key role in the development of a new digital digital components library for SSE, building relationships with stakeholders from across SSE and external agencies to help embed and develop the library and responsible for the management and rollout of the library once established across all internal and external platforms.

User Experience: Partner with marketing teams, digital developers and UX designers to produce the best possible solutions that balance technical feasibility and user experience, ensuring all content meets minimum AA accessibility standards

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Experience working as a UI or digital designer with an in-house design team or at a digital agency.
  • Experience working with, contributing to and managing digital component libraries or design systems, and an understanding of Figma and front-end frameworks such as Storybook or similar.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive digital projects forwards, working collaboratively with multiple teams across a range of disciplines.
  • Understanding of the importance of visual design and adherence to brand guidelines with the ability to apply and advocate best practice principles of inclusive design, including designing for accessibility to AA standard.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS or JavaScript.
  • Passionate about working for a brand with purpose and the ambition to build a better world of energy.
