We are looking to grow our Capital Design team with an additional Design Manager to support our Clean Water Networks Programme

Reporting to the Design Business Lead for Clean Water Networks, the Design Manager will lead an integrated team of Severn Trent design staff and consultants to develop engineering solutions for a wide range of Water Network (Infrastructure) investment needs ranging from Capital maintenance works to complex water network enhancement projects. The programme of works will cover water networks across the whole of the Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy regions. Directly accountable for a team of design professionals, you will develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and drive the identification and management of risks which cold impact on the successful delivery of the capital programme.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Ideally degree qualified in a related discipline, you will be an experienced manager with strong coaching skills in solution design. You will have experience managing infrastructure related design projects, ideally clean water network related. You will have strong planning and implementation skills, with experience of managing external suppliers to deliver outputs to prescribed standards and quality measures. You will have experience of carrying out the role of Principal Designer representative with accountability for discharging Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM regulations.

You will have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be a forward-thinking innovator, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment. You will be able to make educated judgments and decisions in the face of ambiguity, and have a good grasp of the bigger picture, seeking opportunities to contribute to the wider agenda.
